Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of the memory of children as eyewitnesses and the use of child victims in court contexts. The number of publications by Professor Goodman is extensive and she has been awarded numerous grants and is the recipient of many awards at the national level and international. She has been a consultant to numerous governments and agencies throughout the globe on policy as well as research on children who are victims of the justice system. She works as a Consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is also a Fellow of both the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Practice and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the president of The American Psychological Association's 3 divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
